For the first time ever I'm posting COVER photos of some of my manga collection. These pics are of the Sailormoon and Urusei Yatsura collections. There are more on my flickr. edit: huh, I guess I did this post wrong, anyway this post was supposed to have one of those writer's block thingys on the top where you click the button to answer the question also. The question was "Our friends don't always know us as well as they think, particularly when it comes to likes and dislikes. Which popular book, movie, band, food, TV show, etc. would your friends be surprised to hear that you don't like?"

Anime in general.

I liked shows like Ranma and Sailormoon back in the day, and there are a few that I could watch now if the mood struck (kind of want to see my melody and shugo chara). In general though I find there are too many many many other things I would rather do with my time.

Some people say "manga, anime, there's no difference, same thing" no, no it's not. That's like telling the man who collects vintage superman comics that it's the same thing as as watching ren and stimpy... or telling the bookworm that their favorite book is just as good as the movie adaptation.

First of all, I put new Manga Guide videos (5-1 and 5-2) up on my youtube channel, tokirocket. Don't worry about heading over there. Instead, check out rainbowhill's (Brett's) blog post about using manga as a learning aide: How To Begin Learning Japanese With Manga, as he has featured my new videos there as well. So I've decided that I really really love White Magic Morning, but seeing as how all of the dolls on ebay are around $600ish, I can't justify getting one right now. I've just spent a couple thousand to move into a new apartment. If I had decided to get a blythe a few months ago, I probably would have bought her without batting a lash... well, I'd bat it, but I wouldn't be making faces and groaning about it as I kept doing while staring at ebay.

That having been said, there is a perfectly nice $100ish Friendly Freckles by the same seller as I just bought from that I would feel completely content owning. In fact, I really do actually want her (besides her just being one of the cheaper ones on ebay), but I'm worried I'll see a more affordable pink haired blythe just as soon as I click the button.

I think if the seller I bought from had WMM up for less than 500 I might actually buy it without whincing... blaaaaah.

The husband told me to buy the $450ish Ichigo Heaven that's up right now "If it will really make you happy," and I would have jumped on it except that I want to save up for WMM if one rolls around later once I've recuperated from the cost of moving.

Oh, and I also just spent $40 on a new outfit for Eunice.

Opinions? Suggestions? *sigh* too late... I bought her already (the freckles one). Gaaaawd, someone punch me in the face a few times so I stop spending money. Husband came up with the name Eunice before, so I asked him again this time for a name for Freckles and he suggested Morgan. Which is PERFECT because I was considering Regan, but Morgan is a little more feminine. I like it. Here is her stock photo.

Someone should custom a Blythe into a boy. *slaps head repeatedly*

Oh screw this, I'm going to take a melatonin and get in bed before I hemorrhage any more money. What the hell has happened to me, I am usually very frugal for my age. *weeps*

Because I can always trust advice from hanaagogo and because I'm just naturally impatient about stuff in general, I went ahead and started the process of buying a takara blythe. Didn't want to over think it too much. A stock image of the kind I chose (enchanted petal) is here. So now, assuming she arrives without any troubles she'll need a name. If you feel so inclined, please help me decide. :)
